Not quite a suburb, the V&A Waterfront does stand alone, excluding Table Mountain that is, as one of the major tourist attraction of the city of Cape Town in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront with its many pubs, restaurants, shopping centre, a craft markets, cinemas and theatres lies in Cape Town’s working Harbour.
First times visitors to the V&A Waterfront area often overwhelmed by its sheer enormity, more often than not, not knowing where to go or what to do first. It is quite an impressive site to stand on the upper level verandahs and gaze out over the waterfront, with Table Mountain dominating overhead.
There are plenty of boat trips, launching from the waterfront, offering trips along the coast, around the harbour and even to Robben Island. There are plenty of top class accommodation establishments available at the Waterfront, with luxury Hotels and Apartments. Some of the places of interest to visit while at the V&A Waterfront include the Two Oceans Aquarium, the Maritime Museum, The Clock Tower, The Ball Tower, and The Dragon Tree.
